President Joe Biden nominates internal watchdog for Tennessee Valley Authority
President Joe Biden named his nominee for the inspector general of the Tennessee Valley Authority, the federally owned power company's top internal watchdog, on Thursday.
The president announced Ben Wagner, a longtime veteran of TVA's office of the inspector general, would be his nominee. Wagner spent 31 years working in that office, and before that, worked in nuclear power for the utility.
The Office of the Inspector General is tasked with rooting out inefficiency and waste at the power company. Wagner must first be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
