Children 5 to 11 years old will be able to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Shelby County Thursday.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended Tuesday the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5- 11 years old.
The Shelby County Health Department will provide the vaccine to the kids beginning Thursday on a walk-in basis at the Immunization Clinic, 814 Jefferson Avenue, Monday- Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child at the clinic and provide documentation of the child’s birth date.
The clinic also offers the Pfizer vaccine for kids 12- 17 years old and adults, and the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccine for adults.
